DRDO Scholarship 2020 for Girls: Online Application Date for Scholarships up to Rs 1,86,000 Postponed

application date for DRDO scholarship 2020 for girls has been postponed by the Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC). While the online applications for 30 scholarships were earlier scheduled to begin on 19 July 2020, it has now been postponed to 15 August 2020. The DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls, which is being offered through Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB), Defence Research and Development Organization Headquarters, provides scholarships up to Rs 1,86,000 per year for a period of two years.

Who Can Apply for DRDO Scholarship 2020?

Women or girls enrolled in the first year of full time four year degree of BE or BTech in the following streams can apply for Twenty scholarships worth Rs 1,20,000 per year or annual fees, whichever is less, for a maximum period of four years: Aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, space engineering and rocketry, avionics, or aircraft engineering. candidates must be Indian nationals along with a valid JEE Main score.

Furthermore, women or girls enrolled in two-year full-time degree of ME, MSc in Engineering or MTech in the following streams can apply for Ten scholarships worth Rs 15,500 per month subject to Rs of

1,86,000 per year for a maximum period of two years: Aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, space engineering and rocketry, avionics, or aircraft engineering. candidates must be Indian nationals along with a valid GATE score.

Rules of the DRDO Scholarship 2020

Those who are awarded the scholarship will be required to pass all the tests and examinations which may be prescribed by the Institutions so as to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 7.00 or 70% marks. The scholarship amount of the particular year will not be disbursed to those who are not able to pass tests or examinations and do not successfully complete the academic year, says the official notification.

Once the scholarship is discontinued to a candidate it will not be granted further, even if the student qualifies for the required eligibility in the later years. Selected candidates will get their scholarships through their respective institutes.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply from 15 August 2020 to 15 November 2020 on the official RAC website. Those who wish to apply for the DRDO scholarship 2020 are advised to go through the official notification in detail.
